UZKhR OJSC is implementing an innovative project and separating production.
Today, one of the oldest industrial enterprises in Russia, despite the difficult economic situation, demonstrates confident growth in production and financial indicators, and is also developing a unique technical project for the country and preparing for production reorganization.
In recent years, OJSC "UZKhR" has increased all key indicators. In the period 2012-2014, the enterprise increased revenue from sales of its products and services by 3.2% (from 181.4 to 187.2 million rubles), net profit before tax grew by almost 400% (from 764 thousand to 3.8 million rubles), the average income per employee increased by 25.6% (from 20,427 to 25,650 thousand rubles). And based on the results of 8 months of 2015, these indicators amounted to 138.6 million rubles, 2.8 million rubles, and 26,538 thousand rubles, respectively.
In addition, for the sixth year now, a technical modernization program has been implemented at its site, which includes production concentration and processing of secondary raw materials (the main effect of these measures is a reduction in product costs).
Today, the Ural Plant of Chemical Reagents, together with OJSC "Ekaterinburg Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant", is implementing an innovative project called "Pyrite".
As Oleg Nekokoshev, General Director of OJSC "UZKhR", said, the essence of the project is the processing of pyrite concentrates. This is a mineral – iron disulfide, contained in the waste heaps of mining companies. It contains small fractions of rare earth and precious metals. The project will allow extracting these metals, primarily gold. Currently, we have developed the technology and laboratory research is already underway. And at the beginning of December, experimental work is planned, for which the necessary equipment has already been purchased. The data obtained during the tests will help create an industrial installation. As for investments in the project, their total volume will be about 50-70 million rubles. Previously, no one in Russia was involved in processing pyrite concentrates precisely due to the lack of effective and cost-effective technologies.
At the same time, the plant is solving the problem of production diversification. According to Oleg Nekokoshev, by the end of the year, the production of chemical reagents and products for the defense industry will be separated from the overall production of OJSC "UZKhR", with each being registered as a separate enterprise.

OJSC "Ural Plant of Chemical Reagents" was founded on October 1, 1930, on the basis of a pilot plant at the Ural Chemical-Technological Institute (original name – "Sverdlovsk Reactive Plant"). In 1986, a new production site was completed in the city of Verkhnyaya Pyshma.
The main products of OJSC "UZKhR" are inorganic chemical compounds of nickel, cadmium, cobalt, aluminum, zinc, copper, silver, granulated low-melting metals and alloys, standard titers, GSO, as well as indication means and devices for the Ministry of Defense.
